“These ground-breaking, leading figures represent a new wave of transgenders and non-binary people in Tel Aviv. As they empower and inspire each other and society to activism, one gained recognition in the ‘70s and paved the way, under many backlashes, to the rest of the five to become fully themselves. From educating kids on TikTok about acceptance to an aspiring model who got signed by a leading agency and a performer and muse in the local nightlife scene, they are all breaking conservative in the middle east. This portrait work is not only celebrating representation but a political statement, a celebration of self-love and acceptance emphasizing the importance of unification.”
